HULLHARP

Name: Peter Frame

Length of time with HULLHARP: on and off for many years, currently been at The Crossings since January 2012

Peter has spent the last 5 years without a permanent address some of which he has spent on the streets rough sleeping.

Since the age of 15 he has been in and out of prison and has in total spent 17 years out of the last 25 years behind bars. Pete’s chaotic life led to a drug and alcohol addiction and a deterioration in his mental health.

Pete is in quite a positive frame of mind at the moment he has been clean of drugs for a month and very much has alcohol under control. He managed to get clean off heroin without any medication showing his determination and willpower to succeed. He has big plans to be independent and hopes that in 5 years he is living what he calls a “normal” life. “In my own place with a job, treating my kids, standing up for myself. I want to be able to go on holiday and enjoy my life, free from drugs” This is not such an out of reach dream for Pete and he is making the right steps towards achieving this goal.

He is now engaging with mental health support and maintaining his drug abstinence.

“The Crossings has been very helpful, I appreciate the time and effort staff have given me. The Crossings has provided stability which has enabled me to endure the withdrawal symptoms and dramatically cut down on the alcohol. I would not have achieved that on the streets."
