HULLHARP

Private Rented Scheme

Our mission is to establish and maintain a fully comprehensive housing service in the City of Hull that makes the private rented housing sector accessible to homeless men and women, or those at risk of becoming homeless and that have low to moderate support needs.

We will do this by matching accredited landlords (or landlords working towards accreditation) and quality accommodation, with tenants that are prepared for independent living. We will provide support to both the landlord and tenant from the pre-tenancy stages right through until a fully sustainable tenancy has been achieved.

PRS Scheme Services for Tenants

  • Access to the HULLHARP Bond Guarantee Scheme
  • Assist in the search of appropriate accommodation
  • Assist with the application of furniture/white goods packs
  • Support to complete applications including Housing Benefit Applications
  • Assist with the setting up of utility accounts and advice on payment of bills
  • A detailed on-going support plan during the tenancy
  • Advice and signposting to specialist support agencies and education and training providers
  • On call telephone tenancy support from PRS Coordinator between working hours
  • 24 hour telephone line for emergencies

 PRS Scheme Services for Landlords

  • Assist with sourcing and matching suitable prospective tenants with appropriate accommodation
  • Assist with the completion of housing benefit applications and deal with housing benefit issues
  • Carry out detailed property inventories
  • Gather tenant references
  • Work with Hull CC to determine tenant’s ability to pay rent/manage money
  • Attend landlord association meetings
  • Provide mediation services to tenant and landlord if necessary
  • On call telephone support for both landlord and tenant
  • Carry out monthly property inspections
  • Provide access to HULLHARP Bond Guarantee Scheme
