HULLHARP

5/12/11 : DOCK HOUSE RE-OPENED its doors for winter provisions to the cries of joy heard amongst the homeless community.

It wasn’t long before Dock House was full and all 12 beds occupied, with a mixture of old dock house regulars and new faces, all appreciating us providing them with a bed. Already we found ourselves turning away 2 - 3 people a night.

20/12/11: Dock House bed allocation upped from 12 beds to 18 due to the high demand, again Dock House was full almost immediately. Dock House clients were filtered into any available beds at The Crossings, this proved a success and meant all beds at The crossings were always occupied. We are still however, turning away at least 1 person per night.

25/12/11: CHRISTMAS DAY – all clients enjoyed a Christmas lunchchristmas and were given a present from HULLHARP which wouldn't have been possible without all the generous donations we received from the festive general public. Dock House had its own version of the queens speech done by our very own king of dock house, who has reigned for 100’s of years, Brian Stark. Sadly reality was we still had to turn some people away to sleep on the streets even though it was Christmas Day.

26/12/11: A buffet was put on for all clients on Boxing Day- this was a big hit and the appreciation and thanks given by the clients to staff was outstanding. Again this was made possible thanks to the food donations we received.
